Brent edges up, China cliché invoked

Brent crude futures for January rose 80 cents to $62.49 a barrel by 1203 GMT, erasing earlier losses and reaching peaks last seen on Sept. 27. December U.S. crude futures also swung back into positive territory, up 64 cents at $56.84 a barrel.

Winter weather entry pushes North Sea region’s natural gas prices up

British wholesale gas prices rose on Monday morning as demand for heating and from gas-to-power plants increased.

Gas for immediate delivery rose by 1.00 pence to 29.50 pence per therm by 0900 GMT.

Gas for day-ahead delivery was 2.00 pence higher at 30.50 p/therm.

Consumption is higher than Friday due to colder weather...
